Art in Site Magazine is on the brink of becoming the leading art publication (print and online) in the Philippines. Filled with insightful and engaging articles relating to the arts in all its forms, Art in Site is poised to incite a renaissance; a rekindled interest in local culture and the arts, and a renewed sense of pride to be Filipino.
The inaugural issue was launched in January 2009. We had more than 1700 artists from around the world register for our Design a Cover Project. Indeed, Art in Site is already manifesting what its mother project, the Manila Center for the Arts, aims to be.
We envision the Manila Center for the Arts as a convening venue that will serve as a cooperative for Filipino visual and performing artists, musicians and writers, in the Philippines and abroad. It will provide a platform for a diversity of voices — both established and emerging artists, students and untapped talents, educators and arts enthusiasts — to promote the use of the arts in an all-encompassing, provocative discourse about ourselves and the communities of which we are a part.
We would like to request your help in realizing this vision. Your support will enable us to focus in jumpstarting our project with the publication of Art in Site print and online magazines. The magazine is an integral part of the big picture: the Manila Center for the Arts, Association of Artists and Writers. As a cooperative, the center will provide a much-needed voice to all Filipino artists and our distinct cultural heritage; your contribution to this cause will be invaluable and will blaze a trail in the print industry in the Philippines.
