The Art in Site Vision

Thank you for your interest in Art in Site magazine, the Filipino’s definitive arts and culture magazine.

The Philippines has its own unique brand of creative energy, as manifested by a diverse group of people working in a wide variety of different forms and mediums: from music to film, from visual art to literature.

Our vision is to celebrate and channel this energy, this “force.” As a conduit between Filipino artists and their supportive communities, Art in Site will generate a two-way discourse, foster greater awareness and creativity and enhance our lives.

What we’re looking for:

As an authentic, comprehensive arts magazine, Art in Site (AIS) will devote itself to the Filipino artist and our distinct cultural heritage. No matter what we cover, it will always involve a Filipino artist in the arts or culture form. We will always seek insight and thoughtful discourse through in-depth articles, features, profiles and interviews coupling fresh, literary journalism with minimalist design.

Writers, photographers and artists are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the concept and editorial content of AIS found on the website and through the media kit. We will strive to publish quarterly, and in each issue, AIS will represent in distinct departments each artistic category in the Philippines and anywhere Filipino artists are located.

For interviews and features, we want writers who will know or can find the influential artists in the community, who are able to tell with insight and human interest their subject’s role in artistic movements, styles or trends or whether the subject has been instrumental in shaping them. We want writers who are not afraid of their subject, but who can also bring lesser known artists and ideas to the forefront.

For stories, essays, and poetry we want writers who are either the best in their genre, or maybe just starting their career, but exhibit both audacity and competence in their craft.

We are not looking for a particular style. But we appreciate vibrant language, gripping narrative, telling anecdotes, evocative quotes and unique angles. We want writing that is critical as well as entertaining, intelligent as well as interesting, reflective of the eclecticism and energy of the Philippines.

In other words, we are looking for terrific writers who share our vision.
